HOW STIIIZY AND BALCA CELEBRATED HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH

For Hispanic Heritage Month, STIIIZY joins this NorCal-based organization to celebrate and honor Hispanic cultural heritage, the Bay Area way.

This past September, STIIIZY took to the Bay to help one of our NorCal social equity partners host her first Bay Area Latino Cannabis Alliance event in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month!

Bay Area Latino Cannabis Alliance (BALCA) is a volunteer-run organization seeking to empower Latinos in the cannabis industry by providing and advocating for education, business development, business ownership, and civil rights. They accomplish this all while celebrating a dynamic culture that fuses Indigenous, Spanish, and African diasporas.

Our friends at United Playaz as well as our very own social equity partner, and owner of STIIIZY Union Square, Cindy De La Vega hosted the event that welcomed many spectacular live performances. One of which included a group of concheros, complete in their traditional Aztec regalia that wowed attendees as they performed ceremonial dances. Joining in on the full celebration of Hispanic heritage and culture were also a live mariachi band, seven piece salsa band, and additional talented vocal artists!

As a headline sponsor of the event, our STIIIZY team provided fun activations to help everyone create fond memories of the day including a caricature artist, photo booth, and a limited-edition co-branded STIIIZY x BALCA hat to commemorate the special day!

Shryne Group and STIIIZY are committed to creating a more diverse and sustainable industry, and we understand that it begins with celebrating our unique cultural heritages and creating space to share these stories. Being around people who are different from us makes us more creative, diligent, and hard-working.

Innovation demands diversity, it encourages the search for new information and perspectives, leading to better decision making and problem solving — because at the end of the day, being exposed to diversity can change the way you think.
