STIIIZY SUPPORTS NON-PROFIT CHANGE & NEW BEGINNINGS IN LIFTING FAMILIES OUT OF HOMELESSNESS

Change and New Beginnings (CANB) is a nonprofit community-based organization comprehensively serving those experiencing homelessness by providing shelter and clinical services to families transitioning to permanent housing with the long term goal of stability. Our support of CANB dates back to 2019 when we began making annual contributions as part of opening our Suisun City store.

One particularly inspiring story comes from Sabrina Jackson-Bullock. Sabrina, her veteran husband, and their son fell on hard times when their VA housing assistance voucher expired. They enrolled into the housing assistance program with CANB and were also connected with other vital programs and benefits to improve their lives. Providing another new source of income and stability for this family was Sabrina’s employment at the nearby STIIIZY Suisun City location.

“I really, truly love working at the dispensary. I see it as something that helps people with medicine they really need, and I've always wanted to do something more with my life,” says Jackson-Bullock. 

“Sabrina told us about her situation and we’re happy to help her anyway we can,” shared store manager Brian Schinski. “She is a sweet person with customers and co-workers and is always full of energy and enthusiasm.”

Others may look at an individual experiencing the hardships that Sabrina is facing and dismiss her as a risk or undesirable applicant, but at STIIIZY we pride ourselves on providing career opportunities for marginalized communities.
