On August 15, 2020, STIIIZY team members attended the Trina’s Kids Foundation 5th annual Back2School Drive in Downtown Los Angeles where they helped organize and distribute school supplies to inner-city youth and their families to help give them a fresh new start to their school year.
The event was held at Hubble Studio where the foundation was able to provide a variety of school supplies donated by STIIIZY and other companies alongside makeovers, haircuts and food. Whether kids are going back to school or learning from home, Trina’s Kids wanted to make sure they were set up for success for either environment.
Attendees lined up down the block with spacing clearly labeled on the ground to ensure everyone kept a safe distance from each other while they waited to be guided inside by volunteers to each station. STIIIZY was the kid’s first stop after they checked in, where our volunteers were able to hand out our donated items that included: backpacks, hand sanitizer, pencil cases, crayons and more. The groups were then directed to other stations where they received everything from new shoes, other school supplies, makeovers, haircuts, and last but not least: free In-n-Out!
Trina’s Kids Foundation has been hosting their Back2School drive since 2016 with the goal of providing encouragement and reinforcement for their young attendees to do well in school. 100% of the proceeds they receive are donated to children in need, with extra items this year being donated to the ThinkWatts Foundation: an organization founded by Brandon “Stix” Salaam-Bailey that helps both the children and community every year in the city of Watts.
