STIIIZY UNION SQUARE PRE-LAUNCH PARTY: A CELEBRATION OF CINDY DE LA VEGA

United Playaz and others come to show their love and support to San Francisco’s first Latina cannabis equity partner.

On Thursday October 8th, friends and family filled our fourth flagship store to show their love and support for Cindy De La Vega: the first Latina woman to successfully open a cannabis retail store through San Francisco’s Cannabis Equity Program.

Guests were visibly ecstatic for Cindy De La Vega: a domestic violence survivor who had come from humble beginnings, having lived her whole life in the Sunnydale Housing Projects while also having her fair share of trials and tribulations.

“I do it for my daughters and all the other youth and kids that [are] similar to me. Especially for females, we didn't have the role models, the mentors, the programs.” said De La Vega in regards to opening STIIIZY’s fourth flagship store. “Even as owner and CEO, you will see me in the store every day, hands on.”

Those in attendance were proud family members and close friends including United Playaz founder Rudy Corpuz Jr. and other members of the organization whom De La Vega had worked with years prior.

Music filled the space as attendees safely enjoyed catered food from Senor Sisig (a trendy local restaurant in the Bay area) while also being impressed by the space itself; this included a mural art piece done by local artist Mario Martinez.

The Union Square location had a successful grand opening October 9, 2020 with lines circling around the block. Attendees received free glassware, bottles of water while they waited and more.
