STIIIZY x DAYDAY’S PEACE AND JUSTICE MARCH

STIIIZY teamed up once more with United Playaz to show love and support with the organized march hosted by the founder of the organization: Rudy Corpuz Jr. The event was a very emotional, empowering day in the Bay that celebrated the life of Day’Von Haan aka “DayDay”: a United Playaz member who lost his life to gun violence.

Day’Von “DayDay” Haan was a member of United Playaz who lost his life to gun violence at age 15. DayDay was a young emerging comedic talent in the Bay area whose life was cut too short, and this celebration of his life had a turnout of 250-300 residents who marched and showed their support, STIIIZY team members being a huge part of this turnout. We wore “Black Lives Matter” shirts and marched alongside the United Playaz from the starting point of San Francisco City Hall, all the way throughout the city and ending at Victoria Manalo Draves Park.

The event had founder Rudy Corpuz Jr. and professional boxer, San Francisco social lite Karim Mayfield marching alongside STIIIZY volunteers as well as others who showed up supporting not only DayDay, but for Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery as well: two victims of gun violence that helped fuel recent protests across the United States.

The event also featured performances by P-Lo, Prezi, The Drifters as well as a performance by comedian, actor Hannibal Thompson. With the United Playaz motto ringing true throughout the day: “It takes the hood, to save the hood,” the community really came together to show their support.
