STIIIZY SURPRISE AND DELIGHT
No one could imagine that 2020 would play out the way it has: from a global pandemic and police gun violence, to riots and looters who took advantage of the Black Lives Matter movement. Through all this craziness, STIIIZY took positive actions all of April with our Surprise and Delight Campaign by giving back to our Los Angeles, Orange County cannabis community as well as small businesses.
With the closure of a lot of businesses, the cannabis industry kept their doors open being deemed an essential business in California. This meant longer lines at retails alike, including our STIIIZY DTLA retail. We decided to take this opportunity to give back to essential workers, budtenders and STIIIZY High Society members by providing food catering from local small businesses/Black-owned businesses around the area and delivering it to over 100 local cannabis retails/shops including all of the MedMen retail locations around Los Angeles.
We purchased from small businesses such as Blues’ Tacos, Alan’s Market Deli & Cafe as well as Black-owned businesses such as The Sammiche Shoppe, Pugs Pantry and Fixins Soul Kitchen to name a few.
Blues’ Tacos was the first small business we chose to work with on this project — the owner being one of STIIIZY’s number one supporters. Blues’ Tacos is also located right outside of our STIIIZY DTLA retail location to enjoy! Alan’s Market Deli & Cafe located in Marina Del Rey had been another chosen mom and pop owned location that made over 80 sandwiches for our Surprise and Delight runs throughout O.C. and L.A. Then there’s Pugs Pantry: a Black-owned business of a father who is trying to raise money to get his own food truck going — he was able to provide us with good Southern food like collard greens, mac and cheese BBQ chicken and more. The Sammiche Shop was also able to push out 100 meals for us to deliver with the limited-edition hand sanitizers made by us.
We couldn’t have made our Surprise and Delight Campaign possible if it weren’t for our amazing staff members and these small businesses coming together to bring delicious food and memorable experiences.
