Papaya Flavor Profile

The fruity and citrus flavors in Papaya are even more exaggerated than they are in their parent strain, Citral. Some consumers draw similarities between the flavors of the Papaya weed strain and the Mango weed strain. Because of its rich terpene content, there are tropical, fruity, earthy, and sweet elements consumers can experience with the Papaya strain. Consumers will experience an array of aromas and flavors with every puff of Papaya.

Terpenes like pinene and caryophyllene bring herbal notes to the flavor profile, while myrcene and limonene provide more fruity aromas. Pinene and limonene are also both plentiful terpenes in the actual papaya fruit.

If you like the sound of papaya flavor, don't worry there is a few similar strains with the infamous fruit flavor as its main profile.

Papaya’s Past, Present, & Future

The Papaya weed strain comes from a long line of exemplary indica-dominant strains with powerful terpene profiles. Growers created Papaya by crossing Citral and Ice. Combining a strain with earthy notes and a strain with a citrus aroma, we produced a cultivar with a scent that bears striking resemblance to papaya.

The aroma of the Papaya strain is not the only great thing it inherited from its genetic lineage. Papaya inherited the genetics of numerous famous strains. Genetic components of Skunk, Hindu Kush, Northern Lights, and Afghan are all present in Papaya. These indica-dominant icons have gifted Papaya with potent effects and pretty buds.

With bright green leaves and minty green buds, the cultivar almost glows in the sunlight. Buds are large and round like the shape of a fist and the peachy shimmer of trichomes encircles each nug. Tiny papaya-colored pistils accent the buds and contrast against the vibrant greens giving the strain an additional tropical flair.

Effects of the Papaya strain

While the effects of the Papaya strain are often described by consumers as sedative and sleep-inducing, people find the strain fitting for a number of uses. Unsurprisingly, Papaya is often used to help with sleep and insomnia, but it is also used for conscious relaxing.

When the trichomes on the Papaya buds appear more orange or amber, the strain may have more prominent body-high elements. When the buds are covered in more translucent trichomes, the strain may be more likely to provide cerebral relief.

Those with hyperactive and anxious minds often find relief from mental chaos when they consume Papaya. Many people report uplifting and soothing feelings after consuming, and some report a sense of mental freedom from negative notions.

The strain’s effects on the full body are used to help alleviate nausea, lack of appetite, muscle spasms, and chronic pain. Cultivars with reputations for their sedative effects are often used as therapeutic treatments for uncomfortable physical conditions.
