In the vast world of cannabis, few strains have managed to capture the attention and admiration of enthusiasts as effectively as the Wedding Crasher. This strain, a harmonious blend of taste, aroma, and effects, is a testament to the art of cannabis breeding. A product of the beautiful cross between the illustrious strains, Wedding Crasher offers a multi-faceted experience that appeals to both recreational and medicinal users.

Delving into the Genetics

The Legacy of Its Parents

Every strain has a story, and Wedding Crasher's begins with its parent strains. Wedding Cake, known for its sweet, dessert-like flavor and potent effects, brings a touch of relaxation to the mix. On the other hand, Purple Punch, with its fruity undertones and calming properties, adds depth to the hybrid. The genius behind this union is Symbiotic Genetics, a team that envisioned a strain with a balanced profile. The result? A strain with THC levels oscillating between 20% and 24%, making it a favorite among seasoned users.

Dominance and Lineage

While Wedding Crasher is a hybrid, it is reported to lean slightly towards the indica side, although you may here debate on which way it leans. Although, it can be said the dominance is evident in its growth patterns, effects, and even its bud structure, which can vary on growing conditions and the seeds. The lineage also plays a crucial role in its terpene profile, influencing its unique aroma and flavor.

Parent Strain #1: Wedding Cake

Wedding cake, also known as "Triangle Mints #23" (known as Pink Cookies in Canada) is a indica dominant hybrid strain. It averages around 24% THC. This strain was created by crossing Triangle Kush and Animal Mints. The strain will give you feelings of being relaxes, hungry, euphoria and aroused. Most people get the smooth vanilla flavors, sweetness and a subtle punch of black pepper. You might even taste some of those notes of purple punch. The pepper and spicy flavors most likely come from Caryophyllene being the most dominant terpene followed by Limonene and Myrcene.

Parent Strain #2: Purple Punch

Purple Punch is a indica strain that averages about 18% THC and typically no CBD. The strain was bred through the crossing of Larry OG and Granddaddy Purple. Purple Punch brings a sedating feeling that gives you a head and body high, starting behind the eyes. It gives you feelings of sleepy, relaxed and of course, hungry. The flavors and aromas are grape, berry and blueberry. Like the other parent strain, Caryophyllene is the dominant terpene, it also has Limonene and Pinene.

A Visual and Sensory Treat

A Feast for the Eyes

One of the first things you'll notice about Wedding Crasher is its striking appearance. The buds are a rich forest green, providing a stark contrast to the vibrant orange hairs that wrap around them. But the real beauty lies in the details. Upon closer inspection, you'll find subtle purple undertones, a nod to its Purple Punch heritage. And as if that wasn't enough, a generous layer of amber crystal trichomes envelops the buds, making them shimmer in the light. This strain is truly a work of art, reminiscent of a bride in her sparkling wedding gown.

The Symphony of Flavors and Aromas

Beyond its appearance, Wedding Crasher is a sensory delight. The strain boasts a complex terpene profile, with dominant cannabis terpenes like Linalool, Pinene, and Carene shaping its aroma and flavor. Linalool, with its floral and lavender-like scent, is known for potential anxiety-relieving properties. Pinene offers a fresh pine aroma, often associated with anti-inflammatory effects. Carene, on the other hand, has a sweet and pungent aroma, adding depth to the strain's scent profile.

When you take a moment to savor its aroma, you're greeted with a dominant grape scent, intertwined with earthy diesel undertones. This intricate aroma sets the stage for the flavor experience. Upon consumption, a burst of berry, citrus, and sweet grape notes dances on the palate, culminating in a gentle vanilla aftertaste. This rich flavor profile is often highlighted in user reviews, with many praising its smooth and enjoyable taste.

The energizing high makes it perfect for a social setting maybe even hitting the dance floor. This calming effect, while not overly sedative, is ideal for unwinding after a long day. The balance between invigoration, energy and relaxation is what sets Wedding Crasher apart, making it suitable for various occasions. Though most hybrids seem to be set on whether it is indica or sativa dominant phenotypes, the Wedding Crasher strain is definitely one to invoke debate over which it is, some say it is sativa dominant with just as many saying it is indica dominant.

Cultivating the Perfect Bud

Growth Patterns and Requirements

Growing Wedding Crasher can be a rewarding experience, but it requires attention to detail. There a lot of tips and tricks out there to growing potent marijuana and ways to increase THC when growing Other growers can let you know that this strain tends to exhibit indica-dominant growth patterns, which means it remains relatively short but spreads outwards. This bushy growth necessitates regular trimming to ensure adequate light penetration and air circulation.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 1/4 cups unsalted butter, room temperature (for the cake)

  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 4 large eggs

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • Purple gel food coloring

  • 1/4 cup cannabis-infused coconut oil (see infusion instructions below)

For the Cannabis Infusion:

  • 1 cup coconut oil

  • 7-10 grams of Wedding Crasher strain, decarboxylated and finely ground

Instructions:

Cannabis-Infused Coconut Oil:

  1. In a slow cooker or double boiler, combine the coconut oil and ground Wedding Crasher cannabis.

  2. Heat the mixture on low for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally. This process allows the THC to infuse into the coconut oil.

  3. After the infusion process, strain the mixture through a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer to remove the plant material.

  4. Store the infused coconut oil in an airtight container in a cool, dark place.

Purple Wedding Crasher Vanilla Cake:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together the 1 1/4 cups of unsalted butter and sugar until light and fluffy. This should take about 5 minutes.

  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each egg is fully incorporated before adding the next.

  5. Stir in the vanilla extract and the cannabis-infused coconut oil.

  6. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.

  7. Add a few drops of the purple gel food coloring to the batter and mix until you achieve the desired shade of purple.

  8. Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.

  10. Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Afterward, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting and Decoration (Optional):

  1. Once the cakes have cooled, you can frost them with your choice of icing. A simple buttercream or cream cheese frosting would pair well with this cake.

  2. If desired, you can add a few drops of purple food coloring to the frosting to match the cake's color.

  3. Decorate with edible flowers, sprinkles, or any other desired toppings.

Note: When consuming cannabis-infused edibles, always start with a small portion and wait at least an hour to feel its effects before consuming more. The potency of the cake will depend on the THC content of the Wedding Crasher strain used and the efficiency of the infusion process. Always consume responsibly and keep out of reach of children.
