STIIIZY SERVES & HONORS VETERANS ON MEMORIAL DAY
STIIIZY HOSTS BENEFIT EVENT FOR VETERANS AND BRINGS OUT THE ENTIRE CANNABIS COMMUNITY
We teamed up with our partners at the Weed For Warriors Project to host an event honoring Veterans in our community by promoting health & wellness. With tremendous support from our friends all around the cannabis community, we were able to provide roughly 20 different samples of cannabis products to be distributed to over 100 qualified veterans. To accomplish this with we sent out a call to action to some of the biggest names in cannabis including: Napalm, NUG, Natura, Highland Oil Co, Big Oil Co, Grizzly Peak, Loudpack, 4Front Ventures, AmeriCanna, Buddies, Jelly Wizard Cannabis, Inanna Manufacturing, and Luchador.
In addition to providing veterans with the meds they need we also hosted a farmer’s market style wellness fair that included a live bugle player to kick everything off with a rendition of Réville. Veteran owned vendors were also invited out including a clothing brand, catered meals by Bastards Canteen, and even a massage therapist. There was also a special guest appearance by Xzibit. Memorial Day is an important holiday for him, because his father served with distinction in the US Marine Corps.
Medical cannabis is widely regarded in the veteran community as a way to alleviate symptoms without the undesirable effects that prescription medication can cause. The use of cannabis as a therapeutic option and alternative still presents a financial hurdle to some qualifying veterans due to current laws and policy that only allow veterans access to FDA-approved pharmaceuticals through the VA.
We hope that through events like these and other compassionate care medical donation programs that we can effectively address this growing healthcare crisis and provide much needed relief to our veterans.
